The Tennis season has begun, and the Lancer boys are starting off HOT with an undefeated record of 5-0.

The season was kicked off with the Saint Francis Quad, and without even breaking a sweat the Lancer Boys demolished every single team that crossed their path. They defeated St. Thomas Moore 5-2, destroyed Milwaukee King 6-1, and demolished St.Francis 7-0.

“I am very proud of how we all played, and it was a great meet to start off the season,” said senior captain Nick Harron.

The boys would then go on the road to play New Berlin West, and like the last meet they destroyed their opponent beating them 7-0. The Lancers went on that day to play without their best player Nick Harron and Senior Sam Specca had to step up and lead the team.

“When I got the call from Coach G. that I was moving up I wasn’t fazed. I knew I had the willpower to lead our team to victory,” Specca said.

The boys would then go on to play there first home meet of the season facing off against St. Thomas Moore. The team would go on to beat them with a score of 5-2. Coach G. would go on to name Senior Tennis star John Laken as player of the game. Laken ended up winning with a score of 6-2 6-0.

Moments after the match, Laken was brimming confidence. “I am the greatest, and you better believe it. For all those who didn’t vote for me in the Challenger poll, I’ll see you at state.”

The next tennis meet will be held at Wisconsin-Whitewater.
